My winter break

I got home a couple of hours ago, after spending three days with my mum and sisters in our holiday home by the sea, which was great. I love being home because my mum makes my favourite dishes and we have so much more fun than when I lived at home. I rarely go home, but when I do, we always go somewhere fun or play some games. It's like I appreciate my mum so much more when I don't see her every day. When I lived with them, we used to argue daily, mostly over dumb things lke not taking out the trash or leaving my glass in the sink. It doesn't happen so much when I'm just visiting. I love that.

When I got off the train, it was kind of necessary to pick up some groceries in the nearest grocery store, and I found this:

Two entire rows of ELF-makeup. I love this, because it's about £1.50 and just as good as the more "expensive" brands like Rimmel London or Maybelline. I'm a big fan of ELF, 9/10 would recommend. I'm so happy that it finally invaded the Danish drugstores because it's awesome makeup to even more awesome prices. Yay!

Tomorrow is cleaning day. My friend and her boyfriend comes over for chocolate mousse and cluedo on friday, so it has to look proper. And frankly my tiny home looks like someone threw a bomb in here. I need to fix that. My sisters say I got my mum's neatfreak-genes. I can't stand having people over when my home doesn't look decent. Friday evening an aquaintance of mine throws a party because she turned 18, so I'm going there and probably out for a few drinks afterwards. Saturday and sunday are reserved for relaxing/fixing my sleep schedule, and monday I'm going back to school.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves mascara

Yesterday I decided that it was time to try a new mascara because the mascara I mentioned in my ELF Haul is running low already. I don't really know how that happened, but both ends are completely empty. So I needed to get a new mascara, and to be honest, I picked this one because it looked cool and was kind of cheap. I chose Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves. It's a really long name though.

That's a long name, and it fits the length of my lashes when I apply it. It's so good. Basically it doesn't really give you a clumpy look, but more of a natural length and colour. If you apply it the right way of course. The first time I tried it, it did the clumpy things, and I thought I'd wasted my money on it, but then I experimented with how I hold the brush, and it helped a lot.

This is what it looks like when applied with care. I realise that my eyelashes aren't equally long, because I sometimes accidentally pull them out. Bear with me. I really like it, and it's definitely worth a go.

Bonus: testing ELF

To show you what I meant when I said "kind of orange". What I really meant was "It's very orange and not very pretty". To be honest, I don't really like it very much, Captivating wasn't my shade. The eye is mine, and I tested the mascara. It gives a nice length, which is what I think is important.

ELF Haul!

As I told you in this blogpost I've ordered a bunch of makeup from EyesLipsFace, and it FINALLY arrived! I got the box in the mail today, and when I opened it, it looked so christmassy and nice because they actually put some pink fluff inside the box to make it more festive! I ordered a Regular and Waterproof mascara duo, accidentally two Lipsticks in the shade "Captivating", Eye Transformer palletteComplete coverage Concealer and lastly a 10pc Festive Brush Set.

Generally, I'm positively surprised. I paid £3.75 for the eyeshadows and concealers, and I think they were definitely worth the money! The concealer covers every red spot I have. Two of the eyeshadows are too coloured for my taste, but the other two are nude and I really like that. The Mascara gives great length to my lashes, which is what I was going for, because my eyelashes are voluminous already. I'm not too excited about the lipstick though. It's kind of orange, which looks really strange. Sadly.

I really like the brushes though. I paid £12 for ten brushes, which is ridiculously cheap, but I actually think they're really nice. I haven't used them yet, but they feel great!
Like I said, I accidentally bought two lipsticks, so I'm planning on giving one of them to my friend along with her christmas present.
All in all, 9/10, would recomment! (Click here to see the aftermaths of testing makeup)

Last note: I'm sorry about being so absent, I've written a big assignment for school, and I'm finally almost finished. I just need to read it through, correct grammar and typos, and then I hand it in on friday! If I won't get a chance to blog before christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Writer's block and makeup!

Yesterday I had my unofficial last day of school. As I'm a high school senior, I have to write a massive assignment crossing over two subjects. I chose to cross over English and Social Studies and go with Sherlock Holmes, Fan culture and Tumblr, which is really cool, but now I'm stuck. I've finished the offspring, read all my texts and now it's just writing the analysis and interpretation, look at Tumblr with a sociologic angle and write my observations, finish off the assignment and then read it through. I just can't get to it. I need a break, and I need to do something fun. Not that reading Sherlock Holmes isn't fun, I just need to go somewhere.

On the bright side, my procrastination pushed me onto EyesLipsFace. I've always thought of buying something from them, just to see how good it really is, when it's so cheap. I'm running out of eyeshadow and concealer, so I've ordered some lipsticks, a concealer, an eye shadow pallette, a mascara and some brushes. You'll se what I've gotten when the mailman shows up with a big box of makeup!

Have you ever tried ELF's makeup? If so, what did you think?

By the way; I know I haven't posted this week's A Week on Instagram, but to be honest, nothing's really happened. Sorry!

16 Uses for Vaseline!

As I mentioned in this post, I'm really not a fan of using Vaseline as a lip balm. I think it's greasy, nasty and it doesn't smell very nice, so I prefer a normal lip balm. Instead, I've found 16 uses for Vaseline:

1. Vaseline is better than soap when you need to get a ring off your finger. It makes your skin more "slippery", and helps the ring get off.
2. Put Vaseline on the areas around your eyes when you dye your lashes and brows. It's really great here, because the colour doesn't go through, and it'll make it easier to remove the colour that might have ended up on your skin.

3. Dab some Vaseline on your hairline to prevent an ugly edge from the colouring.
4. Put some Vaseline on the areas where you spray your perfume, before doing it. It'll make the perfume last longer.
5. Use it to keep your eyebrows in place.

6. Use Vaseline on your cuticles, it makes it easier to push the cuticles upwards.
7. Put some Vaseline on the tips of your eyelashes before going to sleep. Don't get it all the way to the roots, because the oil in the Vaseline can damage your roots. This will make your eyelashes more flexible.

8. Mix the Vaseline with some flaked salt and use it as a leg peeling. It makes your legs smooth and nice, while it also gets rid of the dead skin.

9.  You can use Vaseline as a lip gloss. Don't use it as lip care, it doesn't work very well.

10. Put it on zippers, if they're hard to zip. It makes it smoother and helps the zipper to glide.

11. Carefully put a bit of Vaseline around the openings on nailpolishes that are hard to open, it'll loosen the grip.

Bland en meget lille smule vaseline sammen med øjenskyggen, for at få en våd effekt. (anbefales ikke til daglig brug – se alternativ)

12. Use it to polish leather shoes and bags.

13. Mix a tiny bit of Vaseline with your eyeshadow to get a wet effect. Don't do this every day, it's not healthy for the sensitive skin on your eyelids.

14. Use it in your face when you go on longer flights to prevent your skin from drying out from the plane's aircondition.

15. Remove glue from fake eyelashes with Vaseline.

16. Lastly, you can use it on your lips, if you like that.

These were my 16 uses for Vaseline. Do you have anything I've missed? Let me know!
